This letter is a recap/reminder of the Lay report given at Mi-Year. See details below:
62nd Annual Fifth District Lay Convention
June 27th – June 29th
Bellevue, WA
High Level Details to Keep in Mind:
• Registration: $150 Dollars due by June 3rd
• Hotel: Hyatt Regency – 900 Bellevue Way NE, Bellevue, WA 98004
• Upon Registration a room code will be provided
• Meeting Location: Meydenbauer Center – 11100 NE 6th St, Bellevue, WA 98004
• June 27th: The first business session begins at 9AM
• June 27th: 7PM Worship will be at First AME Seattle/Awards Reception immediately following
o Rev. Harold Mayberry – Candidate for Episcopal Committee Chair, Guest Preacher
• June 29th: Convention ends at 2PM

This year, we are hosting the 2019 – 36th Biennial Session. To continue meeting our financial needs, we
are asking Clergy and Laity for your physical and financial support. Here’s how you can help:
• GOAL: Register no less than 100 Clergy to the 5th District Lay Convention
• GOAL: Register no less than 100 Laity (In addition to the elected Lay Delegates) to the 5th
District Lay Convention
• Purchase a single cost $300-dollar virtual ad congratulating the Connectional Lay Organization on
its 36th Biennial meeting or advertising your personal interest. The ads will scroll from June 30th
– July 4th throughout the Hyatt Regency Hotel and the meeting spaces.

• June 30th: Opening Worship @ 7PM
• July 1st: First Business Session – Congress Woman Maxine Waters Invited Keynote Speaker
• July 2nd: Candidates Forum
• July 3rd: Lay Gala ($100 dollars)
• July 4th: Session ends by 2PM
Again, our goal is to register no less than 100 Clergy and an additional 100 Laity to the 5th District Lay
Convention. I appreciate your attentiveness and your continued support to the 5th District Lay Organization.

purchasing an advertisement in our Special Commemorative Electronic Journal that will be
shown throughout the course of the event.
Your congratulatory advertisement will reach over 3,000 attendees and this event will bring
recognition to your church and/or your candidacy in a special way. Enclosed is a Special
Commemorative Journal Agreement form, which provides the formal guidelines and pricing.
